Binge Eater
Has uncontrolled eating binges triggered by stress or depression. May average three binges a month. Usually eats sensibly.
Traditional Eater
Eats three substantial meals a day plus snacks. Usually has dessert with meals. Eating habits often reflect family traditions.
Social Eater
Eats at social or business functions. Eats because food is accessible. Usually has a hectic schedule. The sight and smell of food trigger eating response.
Gastronomic Eater
Loves to cook. More concerned with quality and preparation of food than with calories and nutrition.
Snacker
Never eats a complete meal. Prefers to snack on convenience foods. May become overweight because of indifference to nutrition.
Chronic Dieter
Seems to know everything about dieting but cannot lose weight. Tries several fad diets a year looking for instant weight loss.
